Instrument groups

Instrument groups is one of the main system elements, which affects multiple system aspects, most of the Aggregator settings. This setting represents instruments that grouped together into one group. The same group can contain instruments selected according to a certain parameter (for example, type of asset or exchange) as well as a set of instruments that are not related to each other.

Click Add instrument group to create an instrument group.

General

In the General section, you have to choose the name for your instrument group and set the broker(s), who will be able to use this group. The root IDs of the instruments are also shown in the list.

If an instrument group is already created, you can always change it by selecting it in the instrument group list and clicking EDIT MODE.

Filter

Using Filter you can search for the tools you need based on their characteristics.

Here you can select a Category, which means that if the appropriate category is selected, all instruments of the selected category will be displayed in this group and further selection of specific instruments is no longer required.

You can select an instrument group by Asset type. For example, if you select equities here, then all instruments with asset type - equity, such as shares and CFD for shares, will be included in the group of instruments.

You can select an Exchange so the group will include all instruments that are traded on the exchange you select.

You can select a Country, and the group will include instruments traded in this country.

Tenor specifies the tenor for all instruments in this group. If the instrument doesn't have such a tenor, it is not included into this group.

Main tenor allows you to show only those instruments for which the main and other tenors are specified in the Instrument section.

INVERTED FILTER allows you to configure the display of inverted instruments. There are three options: display all instruments, display all instruments except inverted instruments, or display only inverted instruments.

After you apply a filter or combination of filters, you will see a formed list of available instruments. Click SAVE (or CREATE if the group is new) to apply changes and save this list as an instrument group. The group will be saved and available in the Instrument groups section.

Manual selection

For a more precise selection of the instruments you want to see in the group, enable the switch to Manual choice mode. Once it is enabled, you can select instruments from the list manually.

Select the instruments you want to use by ticking the checkboxes next to them.

Click the arrow button to move them to the list of selected instruments.

If there are instruments in an instruments group that were added to the group, and then the instruments could not be removed, then such instruments will be displayed in the interface as unresolved.

It is possible to remove unresolved instruments.

Selected instruments window functionality

When you have selected all the necessary instruments, click Save to save the resulting list as part of the current editing session for this setting.

If you change your mind and don't want to put the ticked instruments on the list, click Cancel selection.

For your convenience, you can sort the instruments selected manually by ascending or descending alphabetical order by clicking Choose sort.

To import your own set instruments in .csv format, click Import instruments.

This mode also makes possible to select specific tenors for instruments, instead of selecting the entire (root) instrument. To do this, tick the Instrument tenors checkbox.

If you already manually added instruments to the list and want to remove it, you can click the icon with the trash container to remove one instrument from the list, Delete to remove the whole instruments category or Clear all to clear the list completely.

Please note that when adding to a group you need to select one option - either the tenors of the instruments or the root instruments.
Don't forget to save your manually selected instruments list by cliсking the Save button in the manual choice window.
Please note that you cannot save or create an instrument group with an empty filter, that is, without instruments in the group.

The Show unavailable option allows you to display instruments with expired expiry dates.

At the bottom of the section, you can also find a few necessary settings.

To save your new or edited setting click SAVE in the bottom right of the screen, CANCEL to cancel the changes and SHOW USAGE to view on which accounts this setting is used.

When an instrument group is created, you can copy it to create another one based on it by clicking DUPLICATE.

A Versions selector is available here. It allows you to roll back changes made in the selected instrument group to a previous version.
