Instrument groups

Instrument Groups

Instrument groups is one of the main elements of the system, by means of which it is determined to which instruments Trading settings will be applied.

The functionality is intended for combining instruments into one group. A group can contain instruments selected by a certain parameter (for example, by asset type or exchange) and a set of instruments that are not related to each other. An instrument group can consist of a single instrument.

To create a new group, you should press the Add button in the list of instrument groups.

If an instrument group has already been created, you can modify it by selecting it in the list of instrument groups and clicking Edit.

If you click Duplicate, a copy of the instrument group with a new name will be generated and will need to be saved.

The Save to XLSX button allows you to download the list of instruments as a table.

The Show usage button opens a window listing the settings in which the instrument group is used.

General

In the block, you can specify the Name of the instrument group and specify the Brokers (main, whitelabel or demo broker) that can use this group within their instance.

Filter

The filter set allows you to select sets of assets that should be present in the group. In each of the filters a selection of several values is available.

When selecting Categories - the list of instruments will display all instruments of the selected category (e.g. equities, bonds, etc.).

Instruments in the group can be selected by Asset type. For example, if you select Equities in the filter, the group of instruments will include all instruments whose asset type is Equities.

If Exchanges is selected in the filter, the group will contain instruments traded on the selected exchange.

If Country is selected, the group will include instruments traded on this country.

Tenor - the tenor of the financial contract, if the instrument has one. If the instrument does not have a tenor selected in the filter, the instrument is not included in the group. For non-deliverable FX instruments, bonds, stocks, only one tenor is possible.

Main tenor allows to display only those instruments for which the main tenor is specified in the Instruments section.

Inverted Filter allows you to customize the display of inverted instruments. Three display options are available:

  • Show All - includes all instruments;
  • Inverted only - includes only inverted instruments in the group;
  • Inverted only - includes all instruments except inverted instruments in the group.

After applying a filter or combination of filters, you will see a formed list of available instruments. Click Save (or Create if the group is new) to apply changes and save this list as an instrument group. The group will be saved and available in the Instrument groups section.

Above the list of selected instruments, you can choose whether to sort the instruments in the group in alphabetical or reverse alphabetical order.

If an instrument group contains instruments that were added to the group but have been removed from the platform, they will be displayed with the name Unresolved instrument/root. If necessary, such instruments can be deleted.

Instrument selection settings

Above the sort button there is a selector of instrument selection settings, where several options are available:

  • `Filtered only': if this option is selected, the group will include instruments added using filters in the center window;

  • Manual choice': if this option is selected, you can select instruments from the list manually by marking them in the center window. This option allows you to select specific tenors, instead of selecting the root instrument. To do this, the Select Tenors' option must be selected in the selector above the center window.

  • Filtered except selected: if this option is selected, manually selected instruments are not included in the group.

The following functionality is also available for the Manual choice and Filtered except selected options:

  • The button between windows allows you to move the selected instruments to the selected active instruments list.
  • If instruments are selected but not yet added, the list can be cleared by clicking the Unselect button.
  • If an instrument has already been added to the list, it can be removed by clicking on the trash can icon. The Delete button allows you to delete an instrument category from the list. The Clear all button allows you to completely clear the list.
Note that one option can be selected when adding to a group, either instrument tenors or root instruments.

Note that an instrument group cannot be saved with an empty filter, i.e. without instruments in the group.

The Verions selector - is available here. It allows to roll back changes made in the selected instrument group to a previous version.
